St. Paul's members to put faith into action
Community members are welcome to "put their faith into action" and help volunteers from St. Paul's United Methodist Church accomplish projects throughout the community on Faith in Action Sunday.
Volunteers will meet at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, 910 NW 38th, and be divided into teams, said Pastor Lisa Beavers.
Most of the teams will depart the church at 12:30 p.m. and go out to accomplish mission projects at various locations, including the Salvation Army, Lawton Food Bank, C. Carter Crane Homeless Shelter, Cameron Campus Ministry, the Pregnancy Resource Center and several area parks.
Volunteers should wear work clothes and take gloves. Most of the work is simple cleanup and moving storage items, Beavers said.
"There will also be groups that work at the church putting together tubs of supplies for the J. Roy Dunning Children's Shelter and emergency supply kits for the United Methodist Committee on Relief."
