Empowerment seminar will be held for women

Local women are invited to participate in the sixth annual Kingdom Empowerment Conference organized by Gail Thomas Ministries in association with Friendship Pentecostal Church Friday and Saturday at CETES Conference Room at Cameron University, 2800 W. Gore.

The conference will be divided into two sessions. The morning session has been scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the evening session will start at 7 p.m. Registration is available at the door or online at for a $25 registration fee. The conference theme is "Shake It Off."

"We encourage the women to shake off the past problems and move forward," Gail Thomas, the conference organizer said. "They can shake off their past and start a fresh beginning."

The key speaker for the conference will be Pastor Darlene Bishop from Solid Rock Church in Monroe, Ohio. There will also be other speakers at the event including Pastor Cherry Shephard from Remnant International Ministries in Colorado Springs and Pastor Annie Moore from Friendship Pentecostal Church in Lawton.

"This will give the women an opportunity for a closer encounter with God and also to renew their relationship with God," Thomas said. "If they are having problems then they can be encouraged and other women can pray for them."

Thomas said she expects around 200 women to attend the conference.

"In history women were thought to be property and unable to carry the word of God," Thomas said. "But women have shown that they are able to do anything that men can do; they are able to fulfill the prophecy, their dream and their destiny."

The conference also will feature praise dance by Elder Wanda Cofield. The praise dance will be featured as an evening program at the conference.
