WALTERS Funeral for Wanda Harmon, 74, Walters, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, at First Baptist Church, Walters, with Dr. Jack Jacob officiating.
Wanda Mae (McLendon) Harmon was born to Carl Thomas and Stella Alberta (Kreamer) McLendon on March 13, 1944, in Wickenburg, Ariz., and departed this life Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, in Walters.
Burial will be in the Walters Cemetery under direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters.
Wanda grew up in Arizona and New Mexico, moving around with her dad's mining job. She left Silver City, N.M., in 1961 with a friend, moving to Chickasha. Wanda eventually made her home at Guymon. She married L.M. Harris at Liberal, Kan., in 1966 and to the union a daughter, La Fonda, was born. They made their home in Guymon.
She later married Kermit Keith Harmon Jr. on Feb. 1, 1982, and lived in Lawton until moving to Medicine Park where they lived until making their home at Walters in 1987. She was employed at Warehouse Foods in Temple, Circle S, Happy Stop and EZ Go in Walters. Wanda enjoyed watching investigation and discovery shows on TV, going to the casino and loved animals. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Walters.
Survivors include a daughter, La Fonda Limon who left her home in Guymon to care for her mom; a sister, Bonnie Bayer, Land O'Lakes, Fla.; four sisters-in-law, Clara and husband Ray Lagesse, Macon, Ga., Edith Harmon, Guymon, Gwen Kitch, Yellville, Ark., Beth and husband Jimmy Boyd, Bainbridge, Ga., and Era, Geneva, Fla.; three grandchildren, Leron-Mitchell Limon and wife Sarah, Pryor, Airreaun-Ahnna (Limon) Fowler and husband Ryan, Oklahoma City, Tyler Limon Perkins, Oklahoma City; six great-grandchildren, Amilya Limon and Noah Limon, of Pryor, Jon-Davis Fowler, Gabriella Fowler and unborn twin Fowler sisters, of Oklahoma City; four step-great grandchildren, twins Braden and Brooklyn Simpson, Braxton Simpson, all of Locust Grove, and Bentley Sheets, Pryor; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Harmon in 2015; her parents; two sisters, Betty McCarver, Tahlequah, and Helen Stone, Guymon; sister-in-law, Mary Chason and husband Tub, of Georgia; brothers-in-law, "Terry" Bayer, Land O'Lakes, Fla., Glynn Harmon, Guymon, and Keith Dann, Geneva, Fla.
