Graveside service for Shirley Ann Sage will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill with Tom Condry officiating.
Burial will be under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.
Shirley Ann Sage, 95, of Lawton, passed away Monday, June 10, 2019, at her home. She was born in Great Falls, Montana on September 11, 1923 to Chauncey Burgy Hildebrand and Edith Harriett Montgomery. She married Gilbert Briggs Sage, Jr. on July 16, 1951, and remained married until his passing in 1989.
Shirley was a devoted military wife that traveled to Europe and throughout the United States with her husband and two children. She was a homemaker, talented seamstress and pattern maker, avid gardener with award winning Irises, and a gourmet cook with an impressive collection of cookbooks. She also worked as a representative for Estee Lauder at the Fort Sill PX, becoming one of the company’s top salespersons. She was a proud member of the “Red Hats” in Lawton and a long standing member of the “Montana Pioneer Women’s Association”.
Survivors include her son G. Briggs Sage, wife Terry of Lawton; Son-In-Law Rodney W. Nichols of Altus, OK; grandson Ryan H. Nichols and spouse Eric Himan of Broken Arrow, OK; grandson Casey R. Nichols, wife Courtney of Broken Arrow, OK; granddaughter Lindsay K. Dolan of Rogers, AR; and two great grandchildren Peyton and Reese.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Sandra A. Nichols, parents and brother Wendell Hildebrand.
