Paulus Leon Cash
Funeral with full military honors for retired Sgt. 1st Class Paulus Leon Cash, 57, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel.
Sgt.1st Class Cash died Wednesday, March 12, 2014, in Oklahoma City.
Affectionately known as "Leon," he was born Aug. 8, 1956, in Chicago, to Rufus Leon and Florence Tillery Cash. He enlisted in the Army in 1976 and earned the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4th Award), Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), and National Defense Service Medal. After his Army retirement, he was employed as an instructor for Glacier Technologies. He married Linda Jean Harper on Aug. 14, 1977, in Chicago. She died Oct. 12, 1999, in Lawton. He then married Rosalyn Ware on July 22, 2002, in Forsyth, Mo. Leon was more than a highly decorated soldier of war, he was a man of character and warmth. He never met a stranger. His family was most important to him. His heart was big and full of love, and his humor was unprecedented. If you knew him you loved him. Rest in peace Leon.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalyn Cash, of the home; five children: Sherita L. Cash and her husband Nathaniel Hilton, Augusta, Ga.; Paulus L. Cash II and his wife Elicia, Lawton; Gregory L. Ware and his wife Benicia, McKinney, Texas; Raymond L. Ware and his wife Selena, Grand Prairie, Texas; and Maurice P. Butler, Sunnyvale, Calif.; six grandchildren: Tre' A. Nichols, Te'a M. Ware, Jackson N. Hilton, Paulus L. Cash III, Lincoln N. Hilton and Raymond J. Ware; four siblings: Joseph Cash, Anna Cash Ghee Ph.D and her husband Kenneth Ghee Ph.D, Paul B. Cash and his wife Cheryl A., and Denise Cash and her husband Leo Long; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
