Michael Henry Green
DENISON, Texas Graveside service for Michael Henry Green, 76, Denison, Texas will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at the Fairview Cemetery in Denison, Texas, with the Rev. Michael Mitchell and Tom Clark, retired FBI co-worker officiating.
Mr. Green passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Carrus Specialty Hospital in Sherman, Texas.
Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery under direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.
Michael Henry Green was born Dec. 14, 1941, in Grandfield, to Dennis and Lesta (White) Green. He attended Ahpeatone and Chattanooga Public Schools. He graduated from Chattanooga High School in 1959. He later attended Cameron State Agricultural College in Lawton, and then Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War as a helicopter pilot. He was discharged as a Captain. Michael had received many decorations, including a bronze star. He spent his career as a special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, retiring in 2000. While in the federal law enforcement service, he was one of a small unique group who started the Pilot Program for Air Surveillance by the Bureau.
He was united in marriage to Joan Higginbotham on May 26, 1966, in Killeen, Texas. She preceded him in death on July 13, 2008. He later married Ella Delores "Dee" Goodnight-Stoll on Aug. 21, 2009, at the Holy City in the Wichita Mountains near Lawton. As a child, he was baptized at the Ahpeatone First Baptist Church and later moved his membership to the First Baptist Church of Chattanooga.
Michael is survived by his wife, of the home; his furry companion, Kitty Kaktus Annie; one brother, Larry Joe Green, Mustang; one step-daughter, Jayne Taylor and her husband Steve, Cleveland, Tenn.; one step-son, Jerry Stoll and his wife Paula, Stillwater; six step-grandchildren, Erin Stoll, Steven Stoll, Jeff Brown and his wife Lora, Jay Brown and his wife Kristy, Alyssa Taylor and Ashley Gosell and her husband Josh; one step-great-grandson, Ty Brown; and Ty's little sister on-the-way; two brothers-in-law, Melvin Goodknight and Michael Goodknight and his wife Stephanie; plus numerous cousins, other relatives, and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry T. and Ethyl White and Rufus and Della Green; his parents; a stillborn sister, one brother, Robert Green, one sister, Terrie Green, and his first wife.
