Leola Arlis Roybal
Funeral service for Leola Arlis Roybal, 69, Lawton, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014, in the Whinery-Huddleston Chapel.
She passed away on June 14, 2014.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service.
Burial will follow at Fort Sill National Cemetery.
Leola was born Oct. 27, 1944, in Jacksonville, Fla., to Robert and Sarah (Fortner) Davis.
Leola grew up and attended school in Jacksonville, Fla., where she graduated from Douglas Anderson High School. She married August Roybal on Jan. 28, 1970. She was a home daycare provider for more than 20 years and took care of many children. However, one of her greatest joys was being a grandmother and taking care of and spoiling her three grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with her dear friends playing her favorite game, bingo. She was an active member of Northwest Baptist Church in Lawton, where she loved singing her gospel music. Leola was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who thought of everyone's needs before her own.
Survivors include her husband, of 44 years, August, of the home; daughter, Yolanda Roybal-Perry and husband, Benjamin, of Lawton; grandchildren, Shonna and Nina Perry, of Lawton, and Michael Roybal, of Oklahoma City; brothers, Eugene "Buddy" Davis and wife, Lynn, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Ricky Davis and wife, Kristen, of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters, Martha McNiel and husband, Henry, of Middleburg, Fla., Ruby Robinson and husband, Kenneth, of Jacksonville, Fla., Dorthy Bailey of Jacksonville, Fla., Jeanette White and husband, Daniel, of Jacksonville, Fla., Carolyn Davis, of Jacksonville, Fla., Arlene Torres, of Jacksonville, Fla., Alecia Kendall and husband, Paul, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mae Holmes and husband, Frederick, of Jacksonville, Fla. She also has numerous extended family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Sarah Davis; brothers, Willie Davis and Junior McBride; son, Zackery Roybal; granddaughter, Angelica Perry.
