Kenneth Kern

Private Family Graveside for Kenneth Kern age 91, of Cache, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 6, 2019, at the Cache Cemetery with Rev. John Webb officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Kern passed away Friday, August 30, 2019, at his home south of Cache.

The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at the Cache United Methodist Church from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Kenneth Lee Kern was born August 4, 1928, in Chattanooga, Oklahoma to Oliver Ferdinand “Ola” and Bess (Schlumbohm) Kern. He attended Cache Public Schools, graduating from Cache High School in 1946. He later served in the United States Army. On October 11, 1954, he and Barbara C. Pierce were united in marriage in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Kenneth farmed and ranched his entire life. He served as rural mail carrier for 33 years; retiring in 1990. He and Barbara enjoyed traveling abroad and had been to every state except seven.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Kern of 64 years; one daughter, Beverly Siegeler of Fort Worth, Texas; two sons, Kenneth “Bud” Kern, Jr. and his wife Pam of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Donald Kern and his wife Billie of Cache, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, Christie Stewart and her husband Reid, Jonathan Siegeler, Carrie Schneider, Joshua Siegeler, Susan Williams, Kenneth Kern, III and his wife Mandy, Stephen Kern and his wife Anna, Michael Kern and his wife Amy, Stacy Kern, Jennifer Kern and Donald Kern, Jr.; and twenty great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ola and Bess Kern; one grandson, Keith Kern; one sister, Mary Ellen Kern who died in infancy; and one brother, Everett Kern.
