Francene Walker

A beautiful valentine, Francene was born February 14, 1951 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to George Cardell and Etta V. (Shelton) Haywood. She was called home to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 1, 2019 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Francene was baptized at an early age and was a member of Greater First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and played piano for Sunday school and Baptist Training Union.

She attended Anadarko Public Schools and was a classmate of the class of 1969. She and James L. Walker were united in holy matrimony in December 1967. To this union two children were born.

Her work history included cook for Tony’s Italian Restaurant, Hollytex Carpet Mills, Friendship Manor, Silvercrest Manor, Christian Care Nursing Center, Cedar Crest Nursing Home and Willow Creek Nursing Home.

She was an excellent cook and anyone was welcome to eat at her home. Her favorite food was fried chicken. Francene enjoyed playing cards and loved listening to music and dancing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James, daughter, Anteesha Walker, her maternal grandparents Burrell Shelton and Jessie Johnson, paternal grandparents Jake and Francis Haywood, two brothers, George Haywood and Otis Charles Haywood, one sister, Joanne Perry, two nieces, LaDonna Pendarvis and Laci Haywood, many aunts and uncles.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Corwin and wife Trish of Moore, OK, five grandchildren, Gabrielle Walker of Anadarko, Xavier Walker and wife Courtney of Anadarko, Jakobe Walker of Moore, Brey Walker of Norman, and Rikia Walker of Anadarko, a special niece Tavia Drummond (Timothy) of Colorado Springs, CO, 3 great grandchildren, Tristian, Josiah and Brooklyn, four sisters, Twila King, Priscilla Haywood, Carrie (Johnny) Hunter all of Anadarko, Ruthie (Henry) of Lawton, 5 nephews, 5 nieces, great nephews, great nieces, special sister-in-law, Dorothy Haywood, cousins other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 8, 2019 at The Greater First Baptist Church of Anadarko, Anadarko, OK. Interment to follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko, OK. Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK.
