Funeral for Evelyn M. McQuain, 84, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2018, in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Mallow, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in Letitia Cemetery, east of Lawton.
Evelyn M. McQuain passed away Friday, March 9, 2018, in Lawton. She was born Nov. 23, 1933, in Lawton to Samuel R. and Alta W. (Riley) Shultz. Evelyn McQuain was not only a devoted, loving mother who raised six children, but she was also a grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and a loving friend. She worked at McMahon-Tomlinson Nursing Center for 27 years and later retired.
Her hobbies included playing dominos which she loved and pronounced herself "The Queen" going to Adult Daycare at Goodwill and spending precious time with family and friends. She enjoyed making people smile. She was loved by many. She battled two rounds of breast cancer and three tragic strokes. She was more than just a mother and grandmother she was a fighter!! No matter what life threw her way, she lived life to the fullest.
Survivors include three daughters: Donna (Ed) Pallares-Brammer, Joyce McQuain-Mozie and Denise McQuain; three sons: Bobby E. McQuain Jr., James D. McQuain and Jerry D. (Donna Salas) McQuain, all of Lawton; six grandchildren: Carlos, Christina, Savannah, David, Dustin and Heather; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Reva F. Roach, of Lawton; numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Debbie; and a special daughter, Cristal Skye (Todd) Green, of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers and their spouses: Albert and Peggy Shultz and Charlie and Susie Shultz.
The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2018, at the funeral home.
