Doris K. Ninedorf
Doris K. Ninedorf, 76, of Lawton was called home Saturday, May 11th, 2019 in Wichita Falls, TX with her family by her side.
Doris was born November 11th, 1942 in Primm Springs, Tennessee to Preston and Earthie Jane (Rodgers) Kelly. Her family relocated to Lawton when she was a child to be closer to other family members. Doris met the love of her life Richard Arthur Ninedorf while he was stationed at Ft. Sill with the US Army, they moved to Madison, Wisconsin and married in November of 1977.
Doris was known for her great sense of humor, she loved to joke around and laugh with everyone. She had a special skill of giving loved ones a nickname that stayed with them for life. She was known as “Nanny.” She took pride in caring for her home and enjoyed yard work and gardening. She loved all genres of music but was especially fond of Elvis. Anyone that knew her knew not to call while her favorite TV show “The Price is Right” was on because she probably would not answer the phone.
Doris always tried to remain strong and not let circumstances get her down. Her husband sadly passed away from a car accident in April of 1980 leaving her to raise their four daughters alone. She battled through a bout of leukemia and won. She was also able to overcome multiple strokes throughout the years. One of her proudest moments was when she accepted the Lord Jesus as her personal savior and was baptized in May of 2004 by Pastor Delbert Hughes.
Doris is survived by two sister; Dorothy Lyle (Fraternal Twin) of Kingsland, GA and Linda Souter of Lawton; two brothers, Hobart Kelly and Prentice Ragsdale, both of Lawton, OK. Four daughters; Janella Jenkins of Lawton, OK, Mellissa and husband Carey Ford of San Antonio, TX, Kristi Natario and husband Curtis Hopcus of Lawton, OK, and Angela Ninedorf of Lawton, OK.
