In reading books and newspaper and magazine articles over the years, I have come across details about famous and infamous people that often are not part of their biographies or autobiographies. Here are some examples.
Author H.G. Wells married his first cousin in 1891; they divorced three years later.
Naturalist Charles Darwin married his first cousin and they had 10 children.
Physicist Albert Einstein's second wife was his first cousin on his mother's side and his second cousin on his father's side.
Poet Edgar Allan Poe's second wife was his first cousin. At their marriage, he was 27 and she was 13.
Outlaw Jessie James married his first cousin after a nine-year engagement.
