Andrew Miller, B&R Construction, hauls ceiling tile out of Fidelity Communications’ main office while workers repair hail damage spots on the roof.

Weather damage forces business move

Last week's hailstorm may not have knocked out cable service, but it did temporarily knock out a provider's home office.

Now at 816 C

Fidelity Communications, 811 SW D, has temporarily relocated to 816 SW C, directly behind the hail-damaged location.

Water could still be seen dripping down onto the ruined carpet Tuesday morning at the storm-damaged site.

The new building is a temporary call center allowing Fidelity to continue serving customers in the area.

Project Coordinator John Brinkley estimates about 300 golf ball-sized hail spots were repaired Tuesday.

"We made a call station where we can still do business; it's just difficult to take walk-ins because the workers are shoulder to shoulder," Brinkley said. "People can still pay their bill online or through the phone or at the drop box at the normal location."

Repair workers have pulled most of the damaged ceiling tile down and more repairs are scheduled for this week, including new flooring.
