Utility rate increase proposal tops city council agenda
Proposals to set the utility rate increase into place for next year's budget and to sell bonds that will finance the next phase of the road improvement program will top the agenda when the City Council meets today.
The meeting, which also will include sessions of the City Transit Trust and the Lawton Water Authority, will begin at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of Lawton City Hall, Southwest 9th and C.
It is in their capacity as the Lawton Water Authority that council members/trustees first will consider authorizing the sewer, sewer and refuse increases that will provide $1.2 million toward the fiscal year that begins July 1. That approval is the final stage in a process that sets expenditures and revenue projections for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.
