Tomlinson teacher gets dome chromed

Tomlinson Middle School teacher George Bryan took a little off the top because of box tops.

The eighth-grade reading teacher made good on a promise to his students and had his full head of curly red hair shaved in front of the whole school Monday morning, because the kids exceeded the 5,000 box top goal he set in the Box Tops for Education program this semester.

Bryan called the drive to collect the box tops the "Chrome Dome Challenge."

Box Tops for Education is a program sponsored by General Mills. A specific part of some products' packaging can be can be collected and turned in to the company to benefit a participating school.

Bryan said the Tomlinson students collected 6,226 box tops this semester, which will go to help the Tomlinson school library.
