Sheriff’s office investigating fire department break-in
The second northern Comanche County volunteer fire department has been struck by a burglary since October.
A sheriff ’s deputy was called Saturday morning to the Porter Hill Fire Department, 56 NW Meers/ Porter Hill Road, on the report of a burglary. Fire Chief Mike Matlock said that while searching for a piece of equipment, he noticed the station’s north door was damaged. According to the report, it appeared to have been pried open or possibly kicked. A search of the inside of the station revealed several pieces of equipment missing.
