Seminar focuses on loss of spouse
When Paula Cothren first went through Cameron Baptist Church’s GriefShare seminar last year, she thought she was doing fine after the death of her husband in 2017. But she soon realized she was in a sort of fog.
“As we would watch the video and then we would start talking and discussing and communicating with each other, I would start crying,” she said. “I didn’t know that I needed the class.”
GriefShare is a 13-week seminar that connects individuals who are grieving and seeks to help them recover from their loss. Cothren went through the seminar once as a participant, and the second time she went through it, she helped lead it. On Sunday, Cothren will help lead a one-day GriefShare seminar titled “Loss Of A Spouse.” She said the one-day seminar will focus on those who have lost a spouse, which is what she can relate to.
