Saint Mary's School gets new principal

Nancy Post, the new principal of Saint Mary's Catholic School, was in Lawton to meet the school's staff this week.

Post will officially assume her duties July 1.

Taking over as principal at  Saint Mary's will be a homecoming of sorts for Post, who grew up in Okeene, where she attended another Saint Mary's Catholic School for the first seven years of her education, before the school closed its doors. She also lived in Walters previously.

She earned her bachelor's degree in business education from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, and her master's degree in administrative and policy studies from the University of Colorado, Denver.

Post has lived in Colorado for the last 12 years, she said. Her most recent job was as a technology teacher in Brighton, Colo.

She has also taught language arts and helped start an alternative high school in Fort Morgan, Colo. about two years ago.

Post also worked as a social worker among other pursuits, she said.

When she and her family decided to come back to Oklahoma, she saw an advertisement for a principal at Saint Mary's in the Sooner Catholic newspaper.
