Police identify homicide victims
It was one of the deadliest weekends in recent Lawton memory and has caused the city’s homicide rate to grow by four in less than 24 hours.
The deaths have moved the city’s total homicides up to 14.
Sgt. Tim Jenkins, LPD information officer, announced the names of three people from the same family who died in a shooting Saturday: Krystle Rose Marie Easley, 34; Emma Lena Mary Cliburn, 6; and Kristo James Robert Cliburn, 5, all of Lawton. An unidentified adult male also was found dead at the scene.
Police were called around 2 p.m. to the 100 block of Southeast Trenton Road, just south of East Gore Boulevard, on the report of a shooting. Several officers who were at the scene Saturday described it as gut-wrenching and one of the hardest to work in their careers.
