MFIX experiment held at Sill

Developers of cutting-edge weapons technology are getting immediate feedback from U.S. soldiers as part of the Maneuver and Fires Integration Experiment (MFIX) going on now at Fort Sill’s Electric Fires Range.

“MFIX is an experiment that we’re conducting using directed energy to combat enemy air and ground threats,” explained Maj. Anthony Findlay, acting chief of the Fires Battle Lab’s experimentation and wargaming division.

Whether the threat is helicopters or mortar rounds, the Army is investigating new ways to take down things that could pose a potential danger to its maneuver forces.
