Mans’ body found under city bridge
Lawton police were investigating the discovery of a man's body found under a bridge by two men and a Comanche County deputy just before noon Saturday in south Lawton.
The victim's body was found under the Numu Creek bridge on West Lee Boulevard between Southwest 2nd and South Railroad streets.
Comanche County Sheriff Kenny Stradley said that Deputy Mike Harris was traveling westbound on Lee Boulevard while on duty at 11:58 a.m. when two men waved at him to stop.
"He turned around and they said there was a body down under the bridge," Stradley said.
The sheriff said that Harris then slid down a concrete slope of the bridge to reach the victim.
"He checks on the victim, who has no pulse," Stradley said. "He called for first responders and then they came and the (Lawton) police and took over (the case)."
