Man dies in rollover

A 38-year-old man died Thursday following a violent single-vehicle wreck east of Lawton caused by an unexplained, high-speed turn, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

State Medical Examiner Greg Turner pronounced Robert M. Harris, of Lawton, dead from massive injuries received at the scene of the wreck, 2/10-mile west of Southeast 75th Street on Oklahoma 7. He was transported to Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Home in Lawton.

Harris was driving a Jeep Wrangler west on the highway shortly after 3:30 p.m. when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle made an abrupt left turn into the center median, said Trooper Wil Hayden. The Jeep rolled an undetermined number of times and ejected Harris approximately 36 feet, according to the incident report.
