Lawton High students earn Law Day honors
Two Lawton High School students won awards in the recent Law Day art and writing contests sponsored by the Oklahoma Bar Association.
Kristian Cardenas, a junior, and sophomore Tristan Zirkle were each awarded second place and $50 in the writing contests for their grades.
Daryn Reese, who attends Covenant Community School in Tulsa, but has Lawton ties, placed first in the fourth-grade art contest.
Contests offered by the bar association included coloring, art and writing. More than 1,000 students from prekindergarten to 12th grade entered the contests. This year's theme was "Democracy and You."
