Inmate altercation leads to stabbing at prison

An inmate at Geo Correctional Facility was stabbed Wednesday afternoon.

Lawton police responded Wednesday to a 911 call from the prison about an inmate being stabbed by another inmate after a previous altercation, a police report said.

Inmate Coston Moore was stabbed by another man in Housing Unit 5 shortly after 4 p.m. Prison officials told officers that Moore and another inmate had a physical fight in the housing unit's common area, but they were separated by by other inmates and returned to their cells.

Lawton police officers watched a security video that showed Moore enter the other man's cell, then leave the cell a moment later, bent over and holding his abdomen, the report said.

Moore went downstairs to an emergency call box and called corrections officers for help. 

Moore was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for a -inch wide, approximately 3-inch deep stab wound, He also went through surgery due to fluid in his abdomen and had internal bleeding afterward, the report said.
