Geronimo man appointed to retired soldier council
Retired Sgt. Maj. Edward Mounts of Geronimo has been appointed to a four-year term on the Army Chief of Staff’s Retired Soldier Council.
The Fort Sill Retiree Council and Fort Sill Garrison Commander Col. Don King nominated Mounts to serve in this capacity. Mounts has been co-chairman for the enlisted side of the Fort Sill Retiree Council for three years, and he says that won’t change.
Mounts said the function of the Retired Soldier Council is to look at issues facing military retirees, not just in the Army but all of the military services, from TRICARE to anything facing retirees and their surviving spouses.
