Fire that burned boats may have been set
A fire at an east Lawton trailer park that damaged multiple boats Thursday afternoon may have been started on purpose.
Emergency personnel from Lawton and the Flower Mound Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched around 3:40 p.m. to the area of Northeast Flower Mound and Gore Boulevard to quell a grass fire in a field there. Crews arrived and instead found a structure, later determined to be a boat, was engulfed in flames in the Sherwood Village park, 601 NE Flower Mound.
After firefighters extinguished the flames, officials determined three boats had been burned or damaged, according to a later police report.
