Development authority will fund land analysis
The Comanche County Industrial Development Authority agreed Tuesday to cover the cost of engineering and survey work that must be done on land in west Lawton being groomed for industrial development.
Brad Cooksey, president of the Lawton Economic Development Corporation (LEDC), presented the argument that resulted in CCIDA members agreeing to spend $272,000 for work that will produce master plans for infrastructure and traffic flow for land located west of Northwest/Southwest 82nd Street.
Cooksey said LEDC selected Garver Engineering to do the work because of that firm’s long-time ties to the Lawton community. Garver has been employed by the City of Lawton for projects for years and is handing the city’s alternate water analysis. The firm also did the preliminary analysis of the property that was recently added to the industrial park’s inventory, officials said.
