Comanche hosts 16th Fall Fest on Saturday

After last year’s Comanche Fall Fest was rained out, President of the Comanche Ag Boosters Jennifer James went to work making sure this year’s event would be a solid boon to the local 4-H and FFA students.

The Ag Boosters will host the 16th Comanche Fall Fest Saturday in downtown Comanche.

“It’s not our sole fundraiser, but it is a staple each year,” James said of the Fall Fest, which raises money to help the Ag Boosters purchase animals from the 4-H and FFA students who make the Stephens County Livestock Show premium sale in February.

This year’s festival will feature an antique tractor show, a Toys for Tots car show and vendors selling food, crafts and clothing. The Comanche Chamber of Commerce will sponsor five bounce houses; wristbands for unlimited jumps are $10 and individual bounces are $1.

Southern Sass Beauty Salon will sponsor a corn hole tournament, and National Wild Turkey Federation chapter Southern Strutters will host a turkey calling contest, with monetary prizes sponsored by Miller Insurance. Youths 15 and under are $10; adults are $15.
