Cache Primary donates Box Top funds to Moore
CACHE Cache Primary School recently donated $1,744.50 in proceeds from their "Box Tops for Education" collection to two schools in Moore that were destroyed by the devastating tornadoes of a year ago.
Those schools are Plaza Towers and Briarwood elementary schools.
Kassi Tate, the school's secretary, said the decision was made to donate to the Moore schools last year after learning about the tragedy.
"Our hearts were broken, and of course we wanted to reach out to each of the school families at Plaza Towers and Briarwood Elementary Schools," she said. "We began to put our thoughts together as to what we could do, and someone came up with the idea to donate all our proceeds from our 'Box Tops for Education' collection. So we began promoting and collecting, hoping to have our biggest collection ever."
Tate said that students, parents and school volunteers raised a total of $1,744.50.
