Cache man caught between his horses and a hard place

CACHE — Caught between his horses and a hard place, a Cache man refuses to yield.

Retired Command Sgt. Major Paul Cherry, a disabled veteran with over 27 years in the military, including time in warfare, said he’s in the battle of his life. Suffering from post-traumatic stress, he said his support is found in his horses.

“They’re my comfort animals,” he said. “My horses are sort of my stress relief, I like to ride them.”

For the last 14 years, Cherry and his horses have called Wildflower Estates home. The neighborhood homesite was purchased by the City of Cache around 1978. Cherry said the area’s covenant states that “gardens, as well as horses, dogs, cats and 4-H type of activities were welcomed.”
