‘Trail of Fear’ offers haunted nightmares, carnivorous clowns this season
Enter if you dare — the Trail of Fear is open for business this spooky season.
Psychotic murderers, monstrous creatures and killer clowns are only a small sampling of the horrors you’ll face when visiting the longest-running haunted attraction in Southwest Oklahoma. After 22 years, the Trail of Fear has haunted, spooked and frightened thousands of victims. Many keep coming back for more — each and every year — because of the work of owner Bob Wright and his cast of crazed characters.
“Part of the secret to lasting this long is putting on a good show and making sure people have a good time,” Wright said. “We always try to do something a little different each year.”
The Trail of Fear has two main attractions this year: the long-running Cirque de Morte and the recently expanded Psychotic Nightmare. They may share the same name as attractions in previous years, but Wright said each will offer different experiences than ever before.
“Each year, we have new characters because we let our cast have quite a bit of say in the development of their character and makeup,” he said. “They come to us with ideas and we coach them and help them expand on it. We have a large part of our cast come back each year, but many of them are different characters than before.”
The Psychotic Nightmare has been given an entirely new revamp with a massive expansion that incorporated many of the elements and resources of The Experiment. Set in the imagination and dreams of a woman who has been in a coma for 10 years, the Psychotic Nightmare features all manner of creatures and demented monstrosities that want nothing more than to make your worst nightmare come to life in all the worst ways.
