Reese hits 1,000 points as Mac reaches 3rd-straight Shortgrass final

As he left the Altus High court on Friday afternoon, Sep Reese had no idea of what he accomplished.

To him, it was just another double-digit scoring performance. He soon found out differently.

The junior joined an elite list in MacArthur basketball lore, becoming only the seventh player in school history to reach 1,000 points. He entered the contest against Sunrise Christian Academy (Bel Aire, Kan.) needing 11 points to reach the milestone; he finished with 17.

In doing so, Reese helped the Highlanders reach their third-straight Shortgrass Classic championship game with a 68-55 win. Mac, ranked fifth in Class 5A, improved to 12-5 on the season.
