Reece, Ike girls pull away from Guthrie
The Eisenhower girls won their regional opener, by pulling away in the second half for a 56-46 win over pesky Guthrie.
Ike, led by 20 points from Ginger Reece and 15 from Naomi Smith, outscored Guthrie 19-7 in the third quarter as coach Daniel Wall challenged the Eagles at halftime.
“We struggled to score, but I challenged the girls at halftime. Then we picked up the intensity and got it going on the defensive end. Ginger took three charges. She did not wanna go home tonight. Naomi penetrated at will and played hard. We found a way to win.”
