Red-hot shooting leads Lions past CU men
Texas A&M-Commerce put on a lights-out shooting demonstration in the second half Saturday and pulled away from Cameron University for a 97-80 Lone Star Conference basketball victory in the Aggie Gym.
All five starters and one reserve scored in double figures as the Lions improved to 4-0 in league play and to 12-2 overall. They have won six in a row.
CU falls to 0-4 in the conference and to 4-10 overall.
After battling to a 41-40 halftime lead, the Lions connected on 11 of their first 13 shots in the second half. They capped the run with a 10-0 spree that included two 3-pointers by Willie Rooks and a pair of layups by Rodney Brown.
