Practice under pressure propels Aggies

CU offense erupts for 86 points as Aggies coast by Emporia State for first home win

“This last week, we really amped up the pressure and the speed of our practices. Teams like to pressure us so we have to practice under pressure. UCO taught us a really valuable lesson. I think that’s what preseason is all about.”

A little time to reflect proved to be a good thing for the Cameron University women’s basketball team.

The Aggies, embarrassed on their home court last week, bounced back with a vengeance Monday in the CU gym by rolling to an 86-72 victory over an Emporia State squad that was receiving votes in the NCAA Division II poll.

The 3-point shooting of Ava Battese and Natalie Halbleib, the rebounding of Lejha Smith and the ball-handling skills of Parfitt McNair enabled Emma Smith’s Aggies to improve to 2-2 on the young season.
