Mac v-ball, Ike softball get big early wins
For Eisenhower softball and MacArthur volleyball, the seasons could not have gotten off to better starts.
The school year may have just started, but already city bragging rights were on the line as MacArthur and Lawton High hit the volleyball court at Mac on Tuesday. The hosts, playing their first game of the season, ousted LHS in straight sets.
Meanwhile, the Ike softball team routed Altus on Tuesday, 22-5, to start the 2019 campaign off on a high note.
Apache opens softball season with 2-game sweep
Apache opened its 2019 softball campaign with a two-game sweep of Texhoma on Tuesday, winning by scores of 4-3 and 12-2.
The Warriors took the first game behind pitcher Abby Vail’s seven-inning performance. Kodee Hrbacek went 2 for 3 with a double and two runs.
In the second game, Apache won via mercy rule. Hrbacek was in command on the mound, striking out 10 in six innings. Baylee Palmer had two doubles and three RBIs, while Kayla Perkins went 2 for 2 with a run scored and two RBIs.
