Mac baseball camps planned for this month
MacArthur High School baseball coach Rodney DeLong has scheduled a pair of camps this summer to help young players improve their skills and prepare them to take on any challenge they might face in secondary school baseball.
The first camp begins Monday, and that is a four-week developmental camp that runs from June 4 to June 19, and after a break for the holiday period, it will resume on July 9 and run until July 19.
The camp sessions will be at the MacArthur baseball field, and the goals are to improve arm strength and velocity, in addition to aid in preventing throwing injuries. Players will also learn to hit and field any position.
The camp will run from 8 a.m. until noon Monday through Thursday and is open to ages 12-19. All players will receive about 64 hours of training with the focus on baseball skills, as well as his personal physical development.
Cost of this camp is $100.
The other camp is a two-week program for kids ages 7 to 14 that will run from June 18 to 28 at the MacArthur baseball field. The camp will run from 9 a.m. until noon on Monday to Thursday during the camp period.
