Leavell, Calhoun garner Fort Sill Golf crown by four strokes
Former Cameron University golfer Brett Leavell and Aaron Calhoun combined to shoot a 264 total to win the Fort Sill Memorial Day Tournament by four strokes Monday afternoon.
The pair beat out Kyle Hatch and Marco Gagliardi who combined to shoot a 268. Taking third in the Championship Flight low gross division was the team of Kolby Seals and Jacob Robertson with a 276 effort over the three days.
Teams competed in four flights, both with a low gross and low net honors up for grabs.
Taking the low net honors in the top flight were Jeff Eye and Bruce Palmer with a 256 effort. Cameron baseball coach Todd Holland and local businessman Brad Cooksey were second at 260, while Bret Penick and Joe Roquemore were third at 270.
In A Flight the champions were Joe Daniel and Paul Whorton with a 287, followed by Zack Sisk and A.J. Flores at 290 and James Price and Thomas Price at 300. Low net champions in A Flight were Uchol Sin at Hyon Tae Sin with a 255, one shot better than Chris Cooksey and Charlie Ednie. Larry Hatch and lone-time Mac basketball coach Kevin Harrington were third at 265.
