Lawton High gets volleyball win; Ike tops LHS in softball
Lawton High School’s surging volleyball team garnered a measure of revenge against MacArthur Thursday and in the process extended its winning streak to four matches.
The Wolverines lost the first set by a, 25-20 score but then got things rolling by taking wins of 25-19, 25-23 and 25-15.
“Mac beat us 3-0 in our earlier match but this time we played much better and controlled the pace after that first set,” LHS coach Carla Neineneger said. “Jordan Jones and Janet Eldridge did a great job setting for us today as we switched to a 5-2 to take advantage of some things we saw in the earlier match against Mac. We also did a solid job passing the ball and keeping Mac from hurting us down the line. They love to serve down the line but our girls did a great job getting to a lot of serves and extending several rallies. It was just a great team effort.”
