Ike, LHS wrap up seasons tonight
To say it’s been a disappointing season for Lawton football would be putting it mildly.
For both Lawton High and Eisenhower, the season ends tonight. Lawton High hosts Putnam City while Eisenhower visits Guthrie. After tonight, that’s it. There will be no postseason football for the two proud programs.
But a win tonight could serve as a springboard for next season. Also, for the seniors, it will be the final time they put on the school jersey.
Both games kick off at 7 p.m.
Wolverines look to finish strong for seniors
Lawton High entered the season with high expectations, picked by multiple publications to finish as high as third in District 6AII-1. But after starting the district slate with back-to-back losses to Midwest City and Deer Creek-Edmond, the course for the season shifted dramatically.
With the playoffs out of reach, Ryan Breeze’s Wolverines doesn’t have district points or tiebreakers to distract them. All they have is one final game against Putnam City. Having lost three in a row, the Wolverines will look to end the season on a high note.
