Horton, Gordon lead Ike cagers to big wins over Enid
Hallie Horton chose the perfect time to hit her first field goal of the night.
With 1:15 remaining and the game tied, the sophomore drained a game-winning 3-pointer, helping Eisenhower overcome a 10-point fourth quarter deficit on the way to a 55-52 win over Enid at home on Saturday afternoon.
“It was a barnburner,” Ike coach Daniel Wall said. “It came down to the wire, and we were in some foul trouble. Ginger Reece hit some big free throws late, and we held on for dear life. They had a shot at the buzzer, but we played pretty good team defense to seal the victory.”
The Lady Eagles (3-1) trailed by four at halftime, but Enid managed to extend that to 10 points heading into the final frame thanks to some hot shooting from Claire Dodds.
