Gordon erupts for 43 to reach 1,000 career points as Eagles sweep rival Lawton High
Talk about exact accounting. Eisenhower’s Antonio Gordon was spot on Friday in scoring 43 points to lead the Eagles to another tense victory over Lawton High School at a jam-packed Eagle Gym.
Gordon needed that number to reach 1,000 points for his career and his team needed every one of them in taking a 68-62 victory over the Wolverines.
Earlier the Ike girls coasted to a 78-33 victory over the young Wolverines.
Both wins were huge for the Ike teams as both more than likely assured themselves of being a host site for the 5A regionals in two weeks.
“We are seeded No. 3 right now and the top four host, so we needed this win in a big way,” Ike boys coach Todd Millwee said. “We think we are in good shape especially since LHS has some pretty big wins. We will find out Monday.”
For the Ike girls their seeding is probably going to be a 3-seed as well.
