Early shooting woes cost Cameron women

One good half just won’t cut it.

Members of the Cameron University women’s basketball team learned that lesson the hard way Saturday, falling into a massive deficit en route to an 87-73 loss to Harding University in the Aggie Gym.

The setback leaves the Ags with a 2-4 record. Harding, coached by Chattanooga product Tim Kirby, improves to 4-1. Its only loss was to defending NCAA Division II National champion Central Missouri.

A bright spot for Coach Emma Andrews was that her club fought on even terms in the second half, but couldn’t overcome a 41-17 second-quarter deficit.
