CU men can't complete comeback this time, fall to No. 11 West Texas, 83-70

West Texas A&M wasn’t in the mood to put up with one of Cameron University’s patented comebacks Saturday.

Four WT starters and one reserve scored in double figures as the Buffs took control early and never looked back on the way to an 83-70 Lone Star Conference men’s basketball victory over the Aggies.

WT, ranked 11th nationally in NCAA Division II, improves to 10-1 in league play and to 21-3 overall. The Canyon squad leads the league by two games.

Cameron falls to 4-7 and 8-13 despite a 27-point effort by senior guard Tyus Momoh.

The obvious difference came on 3-pointers, where the Buffs built a 33-12 lead. WT hit 13 of 33 to Cameron’s 4 of 18.
