CU golf off to Arizona today
The Cameron men's golf team will be playing their most important regular season tournament starting today and finishing Tuesday, when they tee off in the Mustang Intercollegiate, a 54-hole tournament, played at Palm Valley GC in Goodyear, Ariz.
"This is a big test for us, since our other three tournaments this spring have been played in terrible weather and on courses that we've had a hard time with considering the weather conditions," said head coach Jerry Hrnciar. "We really need to play close to our potential because we certainly haven't since our final fall tournament. I think we are ready and have confidence that our talent will begin to show."
"A high finish in this tournament against this type of field would be a step in the right direction."
The top nationally ranked teams in the field include No. 2 CSU-Monterrey Bay, No. 13 CSU-Stanislaus, No. 14 Western New Mexico along with Dixie State, Western Washington, CSU-San Bernardino, CSU-Pueblo, CSU-East Bay, Colorado School of Mines, UC San Diego, Cal Baptist, Sonoma State, MSU-Billings, CO-Mesa, St. Martin's, Regis, Ft. Lewis, West Texas State and Cameron.
