Babineaux breathing life into surging Demons following ACL tear
DUNCAN — Two days after the Demons’ lone loss of the regular season — at the hands of No. 2 Ardmore — Duncan head football coach J.T. Cobble brought his team together.
The Ardmore road trip in Week 8 was Duncan’s first game without star senior running back and linebacker Johnathon Babineaux, and the No. 8 Demons needed a wake-up call to remind them their season was far from over.
“Look, he’s gone. Babs is done,” Cobble bluntly told his team, knowing the Demons had no time to sulk after a 7-1 start. “Season-ending injuries happen in this sport. It’s life. The seniors and leaders on this team need to come together now more than ever.”
