Aggies drop LSC Tourney quarterfinal to Tarleton State, 2-0
A rain-delayed start washed away all of the Cameron softball team’s run support.
After their Lone Star Conference Tournament quarterfinal was shoved back to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday night due to inclement weather, the fifth-seeded Aggies failed to plate a single run and lost to fourth-seeded Tarleton State, 2-0 in Kingsville, Texas.
Cameron was solid defensively but a pair of Tarleton State runs in the third was more than enough to lift the Texans to victory and into the LSC semifinals.
Despite another solid outing on the mound, Cameron junior Bethany Hines was saddled with the loss after only surrendering two earned runs and scattering eight hits. Hines walked to while notching six strikeouts on 95 pitches.
The Aggies’ defense backed Hines up, helping strand eight Texans on base.
