Aggie softball players garner LSC honors

KINGSVILLE, Texas — Another successful regular season led to a handful of awards for the Cameron softball team.

At the Lone Star Conference annual end-of-the-year softball awards banquet on Thursday night ahead of the conference tournament, the Aggies raked in seven all-conference honors while three CU softball players garnered first team honors.

Cameron junior shortstop Brenna Busby, her sister, catcher Callie Busby, and freshman Khmari Edwards all were named First Team All-Lone Star Conference.

Brenna Busby claimed a spot on the First Team All-LSC and a Golden Glove honor for her play at shorstop. Edwards was also named Co-Freshman of the Year.

The Busbys and Edwards were joined by a trio of CU pitchers — freshman Breley Webb, junior Bethany Hines and senior Rylee Willmon, who were all named Second Team All-LSC. Cache native Kaylyn Smith was also recognized, earning Third Team All-LSC.
