'Volunteen' program helps teens learn ins, outs of nursing
When she was 5 years old, Lillian Carlisle visited a hospital and started to dream about becoming a nurse. The Comanche County Memorial Hospital's Volunteen Program helped solidify that dream.
"I thought it would be totally cool to be a nurse. I wanted to do this since I was little and then I learned about the Volunteen Program," said Carlisle, explaining that she heard about the program "from random people in Walmart … because their kids had done it."
