Spirit of Survival takes to streets
Runners and bikers will take over the streets of Lawton during the annual Spirit of Survival this weekend.
The Spirit of Survival Expo and Packet Pick-up will kick-off the weekend from noon to 7 p.m. Friday at the Leah M. Fitch Cancer Center, 104 NW 31st. The Spirit of Survival Bike Ride will begin early Saturday with packet pick-up starting at 5:30 a.m. at Elmer Thomas Park. And Sunday is jam-packed with Spirit of Survival events starting at 5:30 a.m. with race packet pick-up at the Museum of the Great Plains, 601 NW Ferris.
According to Alison Green, race director, the purpose of Spirit of Survival is to raise cancer awareness and to raise funds for the Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma.
